Momentum 5x5 Business Pitch Competition
5 IDEAS PITCHED. 5 MINUTES. $5,000 PRIZE.
Beginning May 25, 2023, Mason County residents who have a viable, small business or an entrepreneurial idea may enter the Momentum 5x5 Competition, which will award start-up funds to the winner.
Details: Apply anytime from May 25-July 25, 2023. A complete business plan is not required. Five finalists will be chosen to present their pitches. Participants will present their business plans to a panel of judges and live audience. Each entrant gets five minutes to pitch an idea. Use of visual slides during presentation is encouraged but not required. The winner will receive $5,000.

NEW! In-kind gifts will be awarded to winner:
- An ad in the Epworth Annual - The ad runs in a book for all cottagers. Having the ad is also the only in for allowing some solicitation of Epworth cottagers, via business cards, brochures, social media, newsletter.
- Invitation to have a booth at Epworth's early-season open house to inform cottagers about the business.
- Invitation to take the stage at the next year's Momentum 5x5 to give an update on the business to the captive audience of both cottagers and Ludington area public.

2023 Momentum Business Plan Competition
Mason County residents who have a viable, small business or an entrepreneurial idea may enter the Momentum Business Pitch Competition starting January 23, 2023.
Any Mason County for-profit or non-profit venture with a viable business idea, plan or invention, or existing organization or company with less than $250,000 in sales or revenue annually, is eligible to apply. A complete business plan is required to enter. Please use the traditional-style format.
The “Shark Tank-style” Pitch Night will be held on May 25. Five finalists will present their entrepreneurial ideas to a panel of judges and a live audience. This larger Momentum competition will be held only every other year, so the next contest will be held in 2025.

- First place will award $15,000 cash and $10,000 in professional support services.
- Second place is $10,000 cash and $5,000 in professional support services.
- A People’s Choice Award will profit one business a $5,000 cash prize.

- Personnel files and handbooks

- TwoSix Digital will be available for 5 hours to discuss marketing direction and to provide strategic recommendations to the winner.
- Also included are the delivery of pertinent planning documents, supplemental guides addressing best practices, step-by-step guides, and other supporting documents to ensure that all talking points stick and are actionable for the winner.
